In this course, step into the eighth client meeting with Keith and Beth as they navigate benefits options, review their insurance coverage, and make important estate planning and cash flow decisions. The session illustrates how planners can balance technical expertise with client-centered care—offering education and guidance while respecting scope and boundaries. Participants will see how values and lived experiences influence decision-making and how planners can use moments of uncertainty or transition to deepen trust.
Course learning objectives:
- Guide clients through open enrollment and benefits conversations while staying within the planner’s scope of expertise.
- Apply estate planning approaches that respect client readiness, professional boundaries, and available planning tools.
- Recognize how client values and personal experiences shape financial decisions, and incorporate these insights into planning recommendation
This course has been accepted by the CFP Board and 1.5 CFP Board CE hours may be earned. Additionally, students who complete this (Keith and Beth 8) course can submit their experience hours and proof of completion to the CFP Board for 50 standard pathway experience hours and 25 AFC experience hours.
