Course learning objectives:

  • Identify and understand the personal and relational aspects of money management and how client backgrounds and values influence financial behaviors.
  • Recognize the importance of effective communication and setting client expectations at the beginning of a financial planning engagement.
  • Utilize active listening and reflection to confirm understanding and build stronger client relationships.
  • Assess the clients’ understanding of their spending habits and the necessity of exploring cash flow to ensure financial stability during transitions.

This course has been accepted by the CFP Board and 2.5 CFP Board CE hours may be earned. Additionally, students who complete this (Keith and Beth 1) course can submit their experience hours and proof of completion to the CFP Board for 50 standard pathway experience hours and 25 AFC experience hours.
